Aliya Mowl

Senior Physiotherapist

Aliya is a highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist and a long-standing member of the AquaPhysio team, bringing a wealth of expertise in aquatic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She first gained a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (2005) before completing her MSc in Physiotherapy (2008) at King’s College London. Since then, she has worked extensively across NHS and private settings, developing advanced skills in orthopaedic, post-surgical, and aquatic therapy rehabilitation.

Aliya has a deep passion for Aquatic Physiotherapy, having seen firsthand how water-based rehab can transform recovery outcomes for a wide range of conditions. Whether working with sports injuries, post-surgical patients, or long-term pain management, she integrates tailored hydrotherapy techniques to help patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence.

With a background in running and dance, Aliya understands the physical demands of high-impact sports and enjoys working with athletes to prevent injuries and optimise performance. She also has a special interest in women’s health, particularly in ante-natal and post-natal rehabilitation, using both land-based and aquatic therapy to support recovery during and after pregnancy.

Outside the clinic, Aliya still enjoys running and dance, appreciating the importance of staying active and injury-free, just like the patients she supports every day!
